Look at that cute little Honda. We just found out that her transmission is shot. We are going to keep with her until she finally dies. Until then, we will contemplate our good times with her (california, dot's first ride home from the hospital, slow goings up hills...)and try to decide what to replace her with. Any suggestions?
criteria:
1. good looking
2. roomy, possibly a third row
3. 4WD (we live in the snowy mountains now)
4. Good MPG
5. Not too expensive

For Aunt Gilly
During our Christmas Holiday in Calgary, Aunt Gilly introduced Dotty to dancing and dancing outfits. As you've probably noticed, we have a very limited selection at home with only my old (teenage) pieces to choose from. We just got Dot's birthday present from the Rasmussens in the mail and look what she got!
We had to put it on first thing this morning and try it out with the Yo Gabba Gabba dance roll call.
So a big THANK YOU to Gillian, Alice, Jackie and Eve. {I have a feeling Andrew wasn't as involved with the selection.} It is absolutely perfect!

tap dance
My mom found a bunch of my old dancing clothes when I was up for Christmas. We took home a few key pieces that are great for dress up. Here Dot is displaying her new ballet skirt (or "dancing skirt") and my tap shoes, which she now will never wear but makes we wear them all the time. This video shows the best piece of all. You can only guess how Cory feels about this "dress".

Dotty's Music Birthday
Dotty had so many great friends come to her musical birthday party. We decorated with piano colors- which I later learned were also "over the hill" colors. Oh well. looking at the black and white balloons now, I realize it is a little sad...Oliver liked them.

Dot got a lot of musical presents. The cutest was this recorder from Brett, Meghan, Flynn and Sobe. This video shows her excitement and her musical party hat.

Silent Night
This is the best video I could get of Dotty singing her favorite new song "silent night". It is January 15th and she still listens to it while she falls asleep.
Note: I love how the video camera chord is so obviously a scarf to her.

Happy Birthday Dot
Dotty woke up to a birthday card and some new dancing shoes. She, of course, needed her jammies off to full enjoy them. I can't believe she is two- I almost started to cry last night telling her how I excited I was two years ago that she was joining our family. I'm such a mom.

Don't Tell Dot
I just ordered this print for her birthday. It will look so cute in her bedroom. It will be the second religious piece in our house. We are pretty picky.
Check out others here
Dotty's Friend Luke
The weekend before Christmas we had our friends Tom and Alysha come over for dinner. They have a son Luke a year older than Dotty- and as the older man, he is pretty intriguing. The two of them had so much fun watching muppets, climbing on the couch and just generally giggling.
And without mistletoe they kissed goodnight.

Pictures Pano
Dotty missed waking up to all the girls and all the toys when we moved over to my parents' house later in the week, but the piano made up for it. She played it at least three times a day. She'll sing the songs she knows as she plunks out random keys. It is really cute. Everytime I tried to catch it on camera she would run to me saying "pictures pano" She wanted to see the pictures I had taken of her on the piano. So I only got pictures.

Christmas Cousins
We stayed with my sister for the first half of the week in Canada. Dotty doesn't have many girls her age to interact with and so this was a week of indoctrination in everything girly. They played dress up, dancing to 'Hairspray', played school at the chalkboard, and endless games involving dolls and dressing up dolls. It was pretty magical to witness.
Dotty loved wearing any of their 5 pairs of princess shoes.
Not so into the crowns...
All the girls together coloring! So cute.

Christmas 08
Dotty had a charmed christmas! Had her first boyfriend kiss with Luke dec.21, went caroling christmas eve, openened presents with grandma Donnay christmas day, witnessed a huge snowstorm, had a fun christmas with D&P, flew to Canada boxing day and just had a whirlwind time with her girl cousins and uncle Greggy in canada. I bought a new camera to capture all the happiness, so look forward to a new post every day.
