Sunbeam!

We sang "Jesus wants me for a sunbeam" last night in the bath. Dotty loved it. She loved screaming "beep" when you're supposed to say beam.
It was pretty cute.

Ironies of my non-archived life

1. Cory takes video for a living and yet we have hardly any video of Dot so far
2. Cory takes beautiful pictures and yet whenever we come back from a trip we realize we didn't take any pictures!
3. I write for a living and haven't kept a journal for the last three years of my life.
I'm making these three items my holiday wish. When we go to canada for christmas, we will take video, take pictures, and I hope to get a beautiful inspiring journal as one of my gifts!

Jet Set again

Cory and I are off to California for the weekend to shoot some footage for 3form. Did I ever show you the awesome path to zero video Cory made for my company? Well we are doing another one, only on design. We'll be staying at the Montes-Reinhart home and are super excited to see them! Only I know they aren't that excited to see us since Dotty won't be there.

Aren't they a cute couple? They are hella smart too- one is a rocket scientist and one is a master student in public policy.
Then we'll be in Seattle for a couple of days eating all the fresh salmon we can handle! Pictures when we return.

We're Back

We are back from New York and then Boston to gas prices at $1.63! I don't know whether to be happy or really really scared.
I will post more pictures soon.

This is Halloween! This is Halloween!

Cory carved Dot her very first pumpkin on Tuesday. She LOVED the whole process. While he was drawing on the pumpkin, she had to draw on some paper. When he was cutting, she stared intently, and she ran around the house saying "punkin!punkin!"
He carved the face to be like Jack the Pumpkin King from "Nightmare before Christmas" which Dot has just started to love watching.
I think it turned out perfectly- don't you? My favorite part? not having to do a thing!

Dot on the Spot

We hung out with Cory's-old-friends-who-are-my-new-friends on Saturday and Dot had a blast with all the kids. Here is a picture Alysha took with her iphone- Dot was ready with a smile.

Seriously So Blessed

I've been meaning to tell you all about this "way funny" blog for awhile. Greg knows about it. Alysha loves it. And seriously, today's post is too funny to hold back. Check out what it is like talking to peoplz in Utah. And get some comfort about the economy at the same time.
LOL

Calgary is getting a temple!!!

Yay

goggles

so Dotty got these goggles at a Lowes kid's day- and she LOVES them. Whenever she sees them she has to wear them. The only trouble is that because her word for "bottle" is "goggle"- she gets confused when we say" you want to wear your goggles?"

Dotty is a Fan

I always bring home a present for Dot (and something for Cory) whenever I go away on business- just like mom bringing me home a tropical shirt from Orlando...
This time I saw an elmo and a cookie monster shirt at a little shop between my hotel and the showroom. I finally bought them on my last day.
money well spent.
Dot has worn them both to bed twice and she wore Cookie to Beth's yesterday and Elmo today. She wore regular pajamas to bed last night and in the morning she said "mummy" and "daddy" and when I pointed at her and asked "who is this?" meaning Dot...she got upset when she realized Cookie wasn't there.
She is a serious fan.

Part of me is like...really? Am I really buying my kid some shirt with a character on it? And then I remember these are the guys that taught her how to count to urteen, so they're cool.

CKLN or Greggy in the Morning!

So I travelled to Toronto from New York to coordinate 3form presence at the IIDEX/NeoCon Canada tradeshow. My first night I stayed at Greg's humble abode and we stayed up chatting like schoolgirls until 1 am...even though we had to get up at 5am for Greg's radio show.
I was the guest host on CKLN's Rude Awakening- Eyeopener addition. I delivered enticing commentary on subjects ranging from terrorism on campus to bedbugs! That is before we got shut down by scaredy-newsy pants. Here are the pics.

fyi- that is a batman shirt Greg is wearing, not a corona shirt...if you were worried. Make sure you check out Greg's exciting posts on the eyeopener link just to your right!

AIG

So I'm in New York again and I had a meeting with our PR firm- who happens to have offices right next door to AIG headquarters. I walked over to see if there was any blood on the ground. There wasn't.

Hudson and the City

So I just got back from New York. It was a work trip interspersed with family fun. It was so much fun to see my nephew Jack get baptized- look how excited he is to be a member of the church!

When the weekend ended I headed to the city and to my hotel. Monday night Anne came and spent the night with me. We had a great time in the rain. We walked down Jerry Orback way. (you can't see the sign in this picture but its there...)

and did some tagging

And the very last night I was there Erin, my parents and Anne went to see wicked which happened to be right down the street from my hotel. After their show we went to grab some coldstone. I remembered to take some pictures this time.

Sly little Slider

Last Sunday we celebrated all the August/September birthdays with Cory's mom and siblings. We had amazing bbq steak tacos (with delicious black beans and salsa made by Cory) and there was an awesome park for the kids to play at. Dotty even said "Oyee" for the first time. That of course means Ollie.
Dotty especially liked climbing all the way up to slide by herself and she felt pretty awesome about it as demonstrated by this great pic "mahma" donnay captured.

I love it! Thanks Donnay.

Tee Time

3form had a Golf Tournament a couple of weeks ago and though I don't play- I attended to tak pictures. Dotty came for a bit and was dressed very gold appropriate. I love what she is saying in each picture.

"Mom, don't cramp my style"

"Let's hit the Green"

"Golf is a lot like life..."

She is definately a little performer. We caught her singing and playing her piano (or miamo as she calls it) the other day and got it on tape. After watching the footage a couple of times she apparently memorized the performance. She recreated the same show at the piano the next day. Looking up to a non-existent cory and laughing the same way, pretending to put her music rack back on just at the same time... It was SOOO funny. I'll have to catch that on tape too...

Dotty and French Canadian dancing

Dotty absolutely loves this dance. She remains still, staring, mesmerized the entire length of the dance. Cory doesn't like her to watch because he thinks it will give her nightmares, but I think she doesn't know its creepy yet and just loves the bunnies and the music and the movement.

The Aquariium

Cory took Dot to the Aquarium with Oliver a few weeks ago and this was my favorite picture he took. Doesn't she look so enthralled? That's my scholar- soberly studying the world around her.

Prop 8

my friend Sarah posted her concerns about her stance on this hot issue here

She found the letter on a blog that links to this interview

What are your thoughts?

For Greg

Greg chastized me for not blogging regularly {read: not at all} anymore. So I put it in my calendar to remind me to blog-I now have a recurring meeting reminder to upload new photos and blog. Thank you data phone! Here are my favorite pics that I have from the Hudson 08 reunion. I still can't believe we didn't take a family picture all in our t-shirts.

HUDSON 08 RECAP

The family reunion went off as planned with all Andrew Hudson family members in attendance who had working, functional pancreases (pancri?)
I need to send an email to all the attendees and get a complete photo library. Right now the only pictures I have on this laptop are ones that Karen sent of the babies after bathtime, and they aren't quite internet appropriate.
So this is a call for all pictures of the event.
As a recap, these were the highlights of the trip.
1. mom and dad playing Rock Band
2. mom stressing that she couldn't answer my phone because she was trying to answer Dot's toy phone- "but there are two green buttons!"- yes mom, and there is also a star, heart and diamond on the top of the huge plastic phone...
3. max showing off his "tricks" in the pool- really cool moves
4. temple quarry day hike
5. rocking out on the microphone with ella

Things I will try to remember to do next year
1. take more pictures
2. take video
3. don't forget to make my mom a t-shirt
4. take a family picture with us all in our t-shirts (I can't believe we didn't do this, what was I thinking?)
5. Take more pictures

Obligatory photos from the new laptop. You know you own a new mac when...

Reading

I've been so obsessed with Google Readerthat I haven't even needed to visit my blog to check out my friend's goings ons...
So I didn't realize how boring my blog was getting. Here are a few things that have happened around the Dot LeSueur household the past couple of weeks.
1. I had a birthday and it was great
2. Cory threw me a birthday bbq
3. I got him a bbq for father's day so he could do it.
4. I had a great time with everyone who came all the way out to Herriman to celebrate. Thanks Alysha, Danny, michelle, Nicole and Dusten, Darin and Suzy and especially Cory's mom for all her help!
6. I took the bus one more time.
5. Cory hooked up with a design partner who has been giving him tons of projects to work on at home
6. Cory bought a new laptop to help him get all the stuff done.
7. Dotty learned how to take pictures all by herself. Here is the proof.

I helped a little bit. But she pressed the button. I also took some pictures of her, but as you can see- she has a little bit of a delayed response with the smiles. She always smiles really cute after the flash. We'll have to work on that.

Although, maybe its kind of cute this way- she just looks really content.

The Burbs

So since we live so far from Salt Lake City- and since gas is now $4.00 a gallon- I've decided to do my part and try taking the bus to work.
I take the 347 Fast Bus from Herriman to Salt Lake and make one transfer in downtown SLC.
Its a good thing I'm on the carpooling green team at work so I can count the two hours I spend figuring out my best route as "research". I had so many options to choose from but in the end I chose the only route that allowed me to only transfer once and didn't require me to drive really at all. It actually inspired me to help other people figure out their best route to work. We brainstormed a "3form bus day" where every employee takes the bus and we take pictures of the empty parking lot. That would be cool.
Here is what I brought to read on the hour long bus ride...

Yup- that's 8 pages of maps and schedules in my lap. I told you it was complicated. Actually this picture was taken before I was too carsick to read. I actually ended up waiting it out on the fast bus and then reading my newsweek after I transferred. LOVE that now I have time to read it! It just started coming in the mail randomly!
Here's to high gas prices!

Happy Father's Day

This picture was taken the day Cory became a father. It is the picture I have at my desk at work. I can't believe I am a part of this beautiful family. These guys share a wonderful bond and I know Dotty has a best friend in Cory. Thanks for being such a wonderful Dad. Happy Father's day.

GFY

So I've weaned myself off of US Weekly, and I no longer have E! since we don't have cable. I'm feeling pretty good about myself.
But now I love this
It is by far much more respectable than my other vices. Definately check it out.

I'm back

And the first thing I did last night when we got home was dance with Dot along with the dancers from SYTYCD (So You Think you Can Dance?)
They are really stepping it up this year, and I'm really excited with everyone so far. So glad that my least favorites got voted off and anxious about who will be voted off next week (they are all so good)
Dotty likes it when we fast forward all the talking and get straight back to the music. Last night she was practicing her one dance move (marching) and trying to get it at a fast speed. Really cute. I love that it is summer now and we can see her chubby legs all the time! Its so good to be back.

Asher & Mo

Hung out with this little superman today at the show and it totally helped with being so far from Dotty. His name is Asher Kal-El Fritz, and isn't he a great set up for Dotty? This little guy made me feel good. Laughed at all my jokes, and agreed with all the things Mo and I talked about. He's a great conversationalist.

Also great to be with his cool mom/former 3form model(She does pretty good behind the camera too)

Thanks for keeping me company on my last day in 3form land Fritzes.

This was our view from a party on of the nights. Great skyline. This is my co-worker/roomate/fitness inspiration Egan. She made the trip so much better.

San Fran #5

On Monday the girls headed to the city on the train to do some shopping. Dotty said "Hi" to people on the train until she was tired of being the same place then she said, "bye- go go"

Here she is paying a street drummer (who she loved) 50 cents. He couldn't get mad because she was so cute! Smiling at him the whole time.

This was also the day we bought these. She will leave them on all day if we let her. She puts them on and claps and says "yay, yay". Doesn't she look like an Olsen Twin circa 2006?

To see all of the pictures from our trip, check out our picasa site. There are so many more cute pictures that I didn't have time to post about. Tomorrow I'll post about the giant woman standing in our stairwell...I know you are intrigued!

San Fran # 4

On our visit to the Pier, we discovered (thanks to Mindy)a great mechanics museum display. Dotty loved all the old music machines. I would have thought she'd be scared of them...

but they played music so she was down.

Here she is displaying her second passion- chairs. I love how she looks like a kid from the fifties. She was all wet from her waterbottle so we stripped her down to her t-shirt.

They also had an old photo-booth. We are obviously out of practice.
